Discover the Benefits of Juicing to Increase Energy and Speed Weight Loss
An Easier Way to 9 Per Day
Juicing makes it super-easy to add lots of fresh fruits and vegetables to your daily diet.
It's also one of the fastest ways that I know to zap fatigue and crank up your energy.
And since experts now recommend nine servings daily of fruits and veggies for optimum health, juicing makes more sense than ever.
Sweet Combinations
Combining sweet fruits with nutrient-packed vegetables yields fresh beverages that are rich in flavor and antioxidants.
For instance, the Cran-apple Zinger is a popular drink at my house. It is a great source of antioxidants, and contains vitamins A and C.
The number of juices you can create is only limited by your imagination.
And once you get started, you're likely to get hooked, just like I did.
More Energy, Fewer Cravings
When my husband and I got our first juicer back in 2001, I was amazed at how quickly my energy increased.
Even more amazing was the mental clarity I experienced. It was like a thick fog had been lifted off of my brain.
My husband and I reveled in the differences we discovered in these freshly made drinks. Pasteurized, artificially-sweetened, bottled juices can't come close to the flavor of natural ones!
Each day brought experience of new flavors like fresh honeydew melon, celery-apple, cantaloupe and spinach-carrot-apple juices.
With our juicer, we also experimented with a number of green vegetable juices with beet greens, parsley, spinach and kale, which we sweetened with fresh apples or pears. These new flavors excited and satisfied us.
Something Unexpected
Within a few weeks, my husband and I both noticed that our sugar cravings had subsided. Apple pie a la mode was no longer irresistible.
And my penchant for potato chips? No more.
We had not changed our diets. Nor had we tried to cut down on junk food. It just kind of happened.
Buying a juicer was, and is, one of the best decisions we've ever made! We quickly noticed that the more we juiced, the less we wanted to eat junk foods. And after juicing for a couple of months, we found that we had both lost weight. What a pleasant surprise that was!
Juicing had definitely changed our lives for the better. And it can do the same for you--if you make it a habit.
A Quick Note
Fruit juices can be high in natural sugars. So if you have a condition that calls for sugar restriction in your diet, such as diabetes, hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, please concentrate more on the fresh vegetable juices.
Of course, it's a good idea to check with your physician for specific advice along these lines.
A Few Juicer Hints
There are basically three types of juicers:
- Centrifugal Juicers
- Masticating Juicers
- Twin Gear Juicers
A centrifugal juicer is probably the best choice for most people, because it juices both fruit and veggies well. However, centrifugal juicers will not juice wheatgrass.
Examples of centrifugal juicers include the Omega 1000 and 9000 juicers, and the Juiceman juicers.
Masticating juicers are said to make the highest quality of juice, due to its two-step juicing process of grating and chewing produce to a pulp-like state, then squeezing the pulp to extract the juice.
However, this thorough process of juicing also makes this juicer the slowest to produce juice. So if you've got limited time for juicing, this is not the juicer for you.
The Champion juicer is one of the more popular masticating juicers available today; another is the Omega 8005 juicer.
Twin gear juicers are best for those who mainly intend to juice veggies with just a smidgen of fruit. These juicers are good at juicing greens, and even do a fair job of juicing wheatgrass.
The Green Star and Samson juicers are examples of twin gear juicers.
