Easy Workout Tips For A Balanced Fitness Plan!

Ever seen a super-strong "Mr. Universe type" who was about as flexible as a two-by-four?
Well, that's what happens to us when we fail to build a balanced workout routine.
Any good workout plan must address the five basic areas of fitness. I'll list them here and briefly describe each. They are:
- Strength
- Endurance
- Flexibility
- Balance
- Body Composition
Strength is the amount of force your muscles can exert against resistance. Believe it or not, most of us begin losing muscle mass after age 30.
Ouch! So what's a body to do? Pump it up! Find out how strength training can help you to build lean sexy muscle, rev up your metabolism and melt off unwanted fat.
Endurance refers to your ability to keep up a physical activity without getting tired. This refers to both muscular and aerobic endurance.
Both are extremely important when lugging those big bags out of Saks and Neiman's, don't ya think?
Fitness walking, for instance, helps to build aerobic endurance.
Flexibility describes your ability to move muscles and joints through their full range of motion. This is why you should always stretch a bit before starting your workout.
It helps to warm your body up and get it ready to move.
Balance is your ability to control or maintain your bodily position. During a yoga workout, for instance, this could be crucial.
Tai chi and yoga
workouts are great for improving balance and flexibility. Both also help build lung and abdominal strength.
Body Composition describes your body's proportion of lean mass to its proportion of fat.
As we age, our bodies begin losing muscle mass. This is how we can become fatter without putting on any extra weight.
And that's why building muscle becomes even more important as we get older. It saves us from what I like to call the "Pillsbury Dough-boy effect."
Now that's a mental image that makes me want to pick up a barbell right now...
